about

This release compiles the series of soundtracks I produced to accompany an exhibition of works by the August Arts art collective from Belgium in London in 2008. I searched for a way to broadly draw in all of their works into one hour of sound so chose to sample excerpts from all of their films, including dialogue, sound design, even their original soundtracks, which I then applied and processed into this new work.

So this new work both echoes a past and suggests a future within these films and sound. Female characters become male by way of the voice treatments, glitchy noise soundtracks become disembodied dystopia's, the outside is brought inside and channelled into all manner of directions.

I believe that the work is a reflection of my scanning through the archive of imagery and sound and is an abstract and moving transition of one's ideas upon another.
