Lovely Day 04:32

On this day, 4th November 2020, at the time of writing, all I'm witnessing from others is anxiety and stress. It's a huge day in politics in the USA and for obvious reasons, and a seemingly unsteady future for so many else in the world too. And so I sat down and recorded this little piano version of the beautiful Bill Withers tune "Lovely Day,' which he originally released in 1977. Interestingly the original song features the second longest note in chart history when he holds a note for 18 seconds! The winner for anyone interested is actually Morten Harket of A-ha's 20-second note in "Summer Moved On" (2000).

I've always loved this song, with its warmth and stately soulful character, and even on the gloomiest of days it offers a sense of positivity. On a personal level I always try and remain positive. As if a global pandemic wasn’t enough this year, getting flooded at home with 1000 litres of water, the loss of all my paid work for the last 8 months and foreseeable future, I’m currently recovering from surgery on my forehead for cancer. But I'm rapidly improving every day and on the fast route to recovery and send this music out into the world to offer some light and good energy to everyone.
