  • Extremely limited white vinyl with black border Test Pressing, signed
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Only 10 test pressings were manufactured and just a handful are for sale, the rest remain in the archive. Each one is signed by the artist and will include a personally written card to the buyer. Like all test pressings the quality is arguably less than that of the final production, because the vinyl presses aren’t able to reach the optimum running temperature when pressing such a low number of discs, but these are to be considered as collectors items.

Standard shipping will be charged but I will ensure each package is sent to be signed and tracked for the buyer.

about

The Signal of a Signal of a Signal was originally released in an extremely limited CD box set on Touched Music in December 2019. It was accompanied by new albums from FSOL, Locust, Anders Llar and others.

The box set sold out in 10 minutes and raised significant funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK. Interest in the album has continued and so we, Martin at Touched Music, and I decided to release a very special edition on heavyweight vinyl in a deluxe PVC bag with flap, with all new artwork.

The album opens with an abandoned soundtrack to a recent Hollywood movie, leading into an expansive score for Dutch National Ballet which premiered at the re-opening of the Stedilijk Museum Amsterdam in front of Queen Beatrix, with synths and live strings offering a sinuous melancholic path.

Side Two explores a deep sense of intimacy and reverberant space. Baltik Kitlab introduces a throbbing variation on chamber techno, with soft shuffling rhythms. The album concludes with a contemplative, cloistered and emotional piano piece, Dead Letter Office, with a strong emotional pull.

It’s music without a centre, elegant and heartfelt. The Signal of a Signal of a Signal is a mature work of contemporary electronica from an artist who has been re-inventing himself for nearly the last thirty years
